Eastern tent caterpillars are visible in trees now. Burning them out is not the answer but control should be attempted. Many homeowner insecticides will work well to control them. During early detection times a bacillus Thuringiensis product like Dipel will work well. Otherwise you will need to use one of the permethrin type products.
